Super Hairy Fairy Scary Halloween Costume!

It is not often that a fairy costume makes it into my top 10 scary Halloween costumes category, but sometimes it is not so much the fancy dress that is scary and more to the person wearing it!

The combination of a bearded man in a fairy costume, you have to agree is pretty scary stuff! I am not sure how well this will go down as an adult mens Halloween costume for the masses, who knows it may just take off this year.. or not!

Anyway, I have dubbed this costume a Super Hairy Fairy Scary Halloween Costume!

If you think about it traditionally the only woman's and girls Halloween costumes available were scary witch costumes, these days we have a much larger selection of fancy dress ideas to choose from and one of the most interesting for me being Fairy Halloween costumes.


Fairies whilst not scary, have a mischievous, sometimes wicked side to them and so for me make excellent Halloween fancy dress costumes. Fairies originally come from Western European folklore during the medieval times. They and are almost always human in appearance, with wings and have magical powers that include being able to cast spells and to influence or foresee the future.

Tinkerbell is probably the most well known of all fairies, and playing on that and the Halloween theme you can get a Teen Tinkerhell Costume, the adult Halloween costume version is also available (The main image in this blog post is of the Tinkerhell Halloween Costume):

As well as Tinkerhell there are also Tinkerspell Costumes, Skull Fairy Costumes and Graveyard Fairy Costumes, so you see, as well as dressing up as a witch this Halloween there are also plenty of other choices for girls of all ages. Other famous fairies include the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio and the Tooth Fairy, but I am yet to see any Halloween themed costumes based around either of these two characters, what about this for a fancy dress idea: perhaps you could make Halloween costume based on one of them? with that note, I will cast a spell and disappear from here for today...

Today's popular image of a fairy costume is that of of a white costume with delicate wings and possibly a wand, if you are going for the Tinkerbell costume look. The reality is that fairies and their costumes come in all shapes and sizes, and there is a huge variety of fairy costumes, and would easily be possible to have a fancy dress party based on a fairy and elf theme.

Tinkerbell Costume
Tinkerbell costumes are some of the most popular of the fairy costumes, for those of you don't know, Tinkerbell comes from the Peter Pan book written by J.M. Barrie. In the story, Tinkerbell is generally kind to peter pan, but she can also be a mean and vindictive fairy. This almost duel personality is said to be because of Tinkerbell's small size and this stops her from holding more than one feeling at a time. A Tinkerbell costume is usually green in colour, she has wings and often a wand as well.

As mentioned above, fairies are not always good and therefore why not try something different for Halloween by choosing a Fairy Halloween Costume, there is actually a pretty big selection of dark fairy costumes available. It is even said that When God banished a bunch of angels from heaven, those that were really bad, went to hell and became devils and those that were caught in between heaven and hell became fairies. With this in mind there are fairy costumes like the Evil Fairy Costume, the Dark Sexy Fairy Costume and even a red devil Tinker bell costume called Tinkerhell!
